An Introduction

As we move towards the middle of the year, it’s that time again in the calendar where we get ultra-generous and make dreams come true - the EAN EOFYS Membership Sale.

OK, so that’s maybe a bit of an over-exaggeration. I’m not sure that’s one of the ways we do help make dreams come true, but I do know it’s a time of huge interest for the hundreds of members who every year make use of this period to upgrade, or extend, their membership for a period of 12 months.

Up until the 30th June, all Associate Members, or new members, can get to enjoy the extensive benefits of being a full members for 12 months with a 20% reduction – so $80 plus GST for the year instead of $100 plus GST.

And all those who already have that level of membership can extend their membership from it’s current expiry date for a further 12 months with the same discount.

A couple of weeks ago, you would have received an email about our new focus on Corporate training solutions, with my good self heading up the consultative sales and development process in that area, with responsibility for ensuring we help organisations make sure that their EAs and PAs are working as effectively together as possible, and delivering the best possible outcomes.

The last few months have been really busy at EAN. We moved into new corporate headquarters (always a joyous undertaking!!) and launched a number of initiatives, as well as focusing on all our usual products and services. So it’s been really busy and we genuinely can’t believe another half a year has almost passed. But we are as always excited about the months ahead so look forward to communicating with you again soon.

Whilst we have, to date, only held one conference in this series, both the Canberra and Brisbane programs are out and taking registrations, and we have the Melbourne program well into production. Both Melbourne and Perth are taking registrations at the heavily discounted Advance Notice rate.

At the time of writing our Canberra and Brisbane programs are well ahead of normal registration patterns so we are very excited about these conferences. But that really shouldn’t be a big surprise given the wonderful feedback we received from Sydney where 31 attendees gave us testimonials (see below).

So what is the main highlight of the program this year? We would have to argue that it is the great format, with strong EA and Executive panels, plus a couple of other key features.

Two of those are the sessions with key takeaways from EAN that we have developed for this year, mainly in the form of handouts that relate to your role, how you can perceive it and ways you can better understand the value of what you deliver for your executive and organisation.

And, if possible, we would love to have your help in getting us the opportunity to come into your organisations and discuss this directly with your L&D managers, HR managers or even your executives.

Executive performance and productivity is directly linked to the performance of the EA, as well as to the partner relationship that exists between the EA and executive.

To us, this as obvious as night following day. But, strangely enough, we see that many organisations consistently miss this correlation, or at the very least, miss the extent to which it is important and the productivity and performance enhancements EAs and PAs can help deliver.

There was another magical start to the Executive Assistant Network's Annual Congress in Perth on Tuesday 1 March 2016 when Australia's finest magician and illusionist Chew Eng Chye performed during the pre-dinner drinks at the Hyatt Regency Perth.
