1. Adina Apartment Hotel Coogee has unveiled a refreshed new look following a multi-million-dollar refurbishment of its rooms and conference spaces. The hotel has been revamped under the management of TFE Hotels, with a goal to bring the Sydney property up to a new contemporary standard.

2. Barrenjoey House Palm Beach has reopened, bringing stylish dining and accommodation to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

3. Melbourne will add a new luxury hotel to its offering when Shadow Play by Peppers opens in April 2019. AccorHotels has revealed a sneak peek into the hotel, which will be located in Southbank and within walking distance to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

4. The Star Sydney has opened the doors to a new 74-seat gin and tea bar, dubbed G&Tea. The venue serves artisan gin and tea, including a 24-karat gold pot of tea for $120.

5. The final piece of the Manly Greenhouse puzzle is now in place, with the opening of the Grill restaurant.

6. Marriott International has unveiled Marriott Bonvoy, the new loyalty brand replacing its existing programs: Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG).

7. Qantas will launch a second direct service between Sydney and Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 2019, catering to the route’s growing demand. The new daily service is scheduled to take off in March 2019 and has been timed to connect the Sunshine Coast to the airline’s international network to Europe, America, Asia and the Pacific out of Sydney.

8. The first DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in WA, and the first new-build DoubleTree by Hilton in Australia is set to open on 18 Jan.

9. Brisbane’s popular South Bank precinct is poised for a major revitalisation, with the Queensland Government announcing it will develop a new master plan for the area.

10. Crystalbrook Collection Hotels and Resorts has confirmed plans to open a luxury hotel in Newcastle, New South Wales in 2020.
