TFE Hotels CEO Rachel Argaman said the new hotel was well positioned to meet the growing demand for quality accommodation close to the terminals – Sydney Airport’s record 42 million passengers last year and its 2.5 million additional airline seats had provided its fastest growth year in more than a decade. She said the fundamentals for adding new hotels to rapidly growing Mascot were excellent.

“That trajectory of growth in Mascot is expected to continue and as our second hotel there, it is well positioned to make the most of that,” she said. “There is very limited room supply growth in Sydney, so that area gets that flow-on demand. There is also significant overflow from major events in the city or even at Homebush – the State of Origin completely filled our Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Airport in June and the demand for rooms there has seen us achieve good room rate growth. We will see that extend to the new Travelodge Hotel.”
