Corporate Functions: Poachers is a lovely location mid-week, with none of the weekend crowds, and only the cockatoos and sheep to disturb the peace. It is an easy 30 minutes drive from Canberra's CBD – far enough so that you are not tempted to pop back to the office but near enough that you don’t waste time getting there. And once there, you feel that you have escaped from the city and have left behind the tension and complexity of corporate life and can focus on the tasks at hand.

From a corporate function for up to 200 guests in the marquee to a quiet and secluded space for just a few, Poachers has endless possibilities. The Engine Room at the restaurant t is ideal for a small conference of up to 40 guests and has some lovely outside dining areas in its kitchen garden and under the golden elm on the homestead lawn. Interactive group events Poachers has some great workshops and group events, whether you want to pull your own team together or impress your corporate guests, these activities will build goodwill.

Shoot Food and Eat It! A team activity – a smartphone food photography course; enjoy a Poachers five-course tasting menu and learn the tips and tricks of how to get great food shots. Each dish will be presented for you to photograph, and once shot – you can sit back and enjoy the dish.

Picnic in the Vineyard – Get the team together and with a member of the Poachers Vineyard staff and wander the vineyards – try the wine beside the vines that produced it. Then sit in the shade overlooking the rolling hills and enjoy a basket full of Poachers treats and muse on the terroir that creates such wonderful flavours.

The Wonders of Wicking Beds – Learn how to establish and manage an organically grown veggie patch using wicking beds. Then enjoy a meal in the kitchen garden and taste the produce in the chef’s tasting menu built around the seasonal produce.

Smoking Masterclass – Learn the art of curing and smoking from the master. The Smokehouse Chef will demonstrate how to smoke meat, poultry and fish, and then how these ingredients can be used at your next dinner party. Followed by a meal featuring Poachers smoked meats.
