Top 5 tips for Christmas Hamper shopping
Christmas can be a stressful time, with the combination of queues, panicked shoppers and trying to find a carpark in a crowded mall it can leave you feeling stressed at what is meant to be a joyous time of year. Take the angst out of Christmas shopping with hampers, get organized and order early and let someone else do the work for you!
Pialligo Estate’s Hampers Queen Rachel has put together an article of the top things to think about when organising hampers for Christmas Gifts.
1. Prepare your list of recipients
Write your gift giving list early, while this may seem obvious you will feel so much more organised and on top of things once your list is written. Think about the usual suspects for personal gifts such as family, extended family and friends. Then think about your corporate needs – clients, colleagues and bosses. Finally, consider work or social Christmas parties where you need to bring the host a gift, teacher gifts and don’t forget to have a few spares on hand so you aren’t caught out without a gift for those drop ins!
2. What do they like?
Hampers are a known as a great gift for corporate clients as they are broad enough to suit most people. However, it is worth thinking about the intended audience of your hampers and choosing one that will suit accordingly. For example, a hamper for a corporate client with children will have quite different requirements to a single CEO who travels a lot.
Other things to think about are their interest, hobbies, likes, dislikes. Are they a vegetarian? If so, they probably will not appreciate a basket full of the finest smoked meats and may prefer a wine lovers bundle.
3. Be Organised – Order Early!
Christmas hampers that contain perishable or handmade items sell out very quickly. Christmas hams in particular take considerable time to produce, and once they are sold out unfortunately no amount of tears, bribery or money will be able to help you. We recommend ordering at least one – two months prior to Christmas Day if possible.
4. Have spares
Have a hamper on standby for that occasion where someone you didn’t expect would buy you a gift does…! A spare hamper will save you the panic of running around trying to find something last minute and any embarrassment. If you don’t end up using it… put it in the present box for another time, if it contains food perishables…happy days! It’s Christmas after all, congratulate yourself on being so organised and eat / drink it.
5. Finally – Reward yourself!
Congratulate and reward yourself for navigating this year’s Christmas shopping, you have earned it!
