Melbourne & Olympic Park Reimagines Event Experiences with Redevelopment
Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP), home to the Australian Open tennis tournament, is embarking on the third stage of its $1 billion redevelopment.
Beginning in early 2019, the final stage of M&OP will reveal an unparalleled events centre – paying homage to the Australian landscape, as well as a series of renovated event spaces for corporate parties and large-scale events.
First in line to unveil its unique offerings; Rod Laver Arena has debuted a brand-new three level “pod-style” guest entrance, as well as a suite of new dining and bar facilities including The Balloon Bar, Railyards Bistro & Bar, Upper Deck, The Observatory and The Racquet Club - all paired with world-class Australian hospitality and their own unique identity.
M&OP have also revealed a suite of spaces, perfect for entertaining and private parties to experience the action-packed sporting and entertainment events from the privacy of your exclusive suite or Superbox at any one of our venues; AAMI Park, Rod Laver Arena or Melbourne Arena. Immerse yourself and your guests in the atmosphere of the crowd whilst enjoying your chosen food and beverage all within your private facility.
Sitting proudly as Melbourne Park’s most recently completed refurbishment is Margaret Court Arena. Completed in late 2014, be inspired by the design, acoustics and architecture that this multipurpose intimate arena offers. Catering for a gala dinner for up to 650 guests or a plenary for up to 5,000 guests, this is one of Melbourne’s most unique venues. Your event can be seamlessly transformed from indoor to outdoor in a matter of minutes, with the world’s fastest retractable roof, inviting the outside in with no fear of Melbourne’s unpredictable weather ruining your affair.
Set to be unveiled at Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME) (18-20 February 2019), M&OP’s new function and media centre is scheduled to open in February 2022, promising to elevate the precinct’s capabilities yet again.
This new centre will sit alongside some of the world’s most iconic venues; offering premium experiences for businesses and associations across Australia and abroad.
