Dare The Boss Campaign – Children’s Cancer Institute
EAN have been thrilled to join forces with the Children’s Cancer Institute to help raise funds through their newly launched ‘Dare The Boss’ campaign.
In order to assist the institute, the EAN team got behind the fund raising by hosting a BBQ at the northern beaches local summer soccer competition on 3 consecutive evenings and cooked up over 750 sausage and onion sandwiches for young and old!
We are happy to announce that we raised over $3,300 during the 3 days and want to thank some very important people for helping to make this happen.
RG Meats for donating an absolute pile of sausages, Bakers Delight for supplying the bread, Football SSG for allowing us to BBQ on site and the local Rotary Club for assisting us with the sale of raffle tickets.
I also want to personally thank my staff and their kids for their massive effort in running the sausage sizzle and giving up their time on not just one but several nights! Also to our wonderful EAN Partners, Luna Park and QBT for donating the prizes for the raffle.
We have also had a fund raising page on the ‘Dare The Boss’ website and want to thank all of those who have donated to this great cause.
We smashed our target – and have raised over $4,600!
Thanks to all who contributed and it is not too late if you would like to still donate…
Make sure you also read the Q Station article to hear how my Ghostly Sleepover went…
The Children’s Cancer Institute exists solely to put an end to childhood cancer and they are determined to do so.
950 children are diagnosed with Cancer each year, of which 3 die each week
Sixty years ago, cancer was nearly always a death sentence for a child. Now 8 out of 10 children survive and as the only independent medical research institute in Australia wholly dedicated to childhood cancer, their role is vital because, despite their progress, cancer still kills more children than any other disease.
Childhood cancer is hugely complex but they are confident that with the brightest brains, the best facilities and the greatest determination they will get there.
